About us

Suzuki Method are a 5 strong band hailing from Salford. The band began with two people sat in a bedroom frustrated with everything being played on the radio (galaxy and kiss obviously) and feeling that non of the "local heroes" in there home town represented them anymore. Amidst the post Oasis Mancunian hangover they set to work writing songs and planning a way in to the ears of every other like minded individual in Manchester and beyond. After recording a demo in there adopted home of Blueprint studio's in Salford the band were invited to play at the "In The City" main showcase and began being payed attention to on the airwaves by the likes of Tony Wilson and co. As the wheels were set in motion tragedy stuck at the beginning of 08 with the death of bass player Martin Cunliffe. This shook the band to the core, a big doubt was cast over the bands future. After much soul searching life long friend of the band Mike Matthews was drafted to take up bass duties and begin putting the pieces back together. With a new found sense of urgency and hunger the band recorded three new songs with Tom Knott at Airtight studios in Chorlton. The Songs are Paris Hulton, Start today stop tomorrow and Identity parade and they here for you to listen to now. The band will be playing live all over the country this year including a support slot on the main stage of The Wickerman Festival in Scotland alongside KT Tunstall and Gary Newman.

“ I want to make good citizens. If a child hears fine music from the day of his birth and learns to play it himself, he develops sensitivity. He gets a beautiful heart. ”
