About us
There's a big old buzz surrounding Elektralux at the moment. The atmosphere here at Moles says it all - these are exciting times for this relatively new Bath band, and everybody's feeling nicely chuffed for them. A new band they are, but unseasoned performers they definitely are not. Elektralux is comprised of a ridiculously prolific cross-section of Bath bands over recent years, representing some of the best loved groups from the city's very diverse bank of music. Like their domestic cleaning namesake, this current project has hoovered up the skills and raw talent, and squashed it all down into one very nice and marketable bundle of noise.
Proving that pop is not always a euphemism for cr*p and that hip hop doesn't necessitate a depressingly macho subject matter, Elektralux are not afraid of writing inanely catchy material. Laid on a bed of synth and part programmed, part live drums, with carefully placed electric geetar where it's needed, this is a sound that packs the punches then softens you up. It cuts straight to the bone, then says sorry and carries you off into a loved up hug. The two front men only add to the equation. A perfect combination of MC Erl Grey and Nik Walker's vocals make this a pretty unfailable mission. The band has been working its collective arse off as well: Tonight despite the various labels represented amongst the crowd, Elektralux are one of the most comfortable and naturally comical bands I've seen in a long time. The tracks are all spot on, the timing tight, and they're managing to piss about and make everyone laugh. If everyone's on your side, who's about to argue? Look out for Electralux ‘cause they're not going to wait around. http://www.myspace.com/elektralux
