About us


The Blue Murders began in early 2008, an idea which had been floating around for some time. With the 4 members already confirmed it was only a matter of time before The Blue Murders became their main project. Thomas Jack, Walton Banks, Rob Kendal & Aaron had their first practice session in their local scout hut where the latter two members had practiced for years. Since that 1st session they've developed their unique sound, mashing Modest Mouse with Mr. Bungle & drawing influences from Radiohead, The Crimea, Port O' Brien & The Smiths. Already the band has drawn interest from a number of indie labels, due to their musical influences & exciting sound. This year promises to be an important year for the Blue Murders who are playing extensively around Manchester & are enjoying writing in a completely different way. Songs like Murder! & Balloon Life are proving popular live with catchy riffs & “in yer face” vocals. While the band have the ability to knock out a country styled track or an arse kickin’ indie anthem the sound of the Blue Murders is clear and exciting!
