About us

Arthur Walker is an upcoming alternative rock quartet from Plymouth in the South West. Formed in July 2006, they play a mixture of alternative rock and pop songs. Live, Arthur Walker are recognized for their individual style, drawing crowds to their raw and energetic live performances.

Arthur Walker’s first EP ‘Hello Medicine’ was recorded at Outhouse Studios in Reading, October 2006. The three-song EP has received much acclaim and was a promising starting point for the fledgling band. The release was followed-up with support shows in the South West, an acoustic performance/interview on BBC Radio and a performance at the Maker Sunshine Festival in Cornwall.

Second EP ‘I am a Skull and I am Evil’ sees the band growing in confidence, with a more melodic and adventurous sound. Promoted with a sell-out headline show in their hometown of Plymouth, a cover feature in The Herald newspaper, and a second appearance on BBC Radio, the EP has received strong support from local recording studio and record label Deep Blue Sound.

Recent press for Arthur Walker:

"The winners of this month’s Best Newcomers to Backbone’s Column Award are ARTHUR WALKER whose disjointed new-wavery stuffed with lofty yet warm melodies made for the kind of band that everyone couldn’t help but admire, and the kind of band that music mags pour over in their ‘Ones To Watch’ sections. Ones to watch, then." 24-7 Magazine May 2007

"One of the most exhilarating and dynamic bands to come out of Devon in recent years, Arthur Walker deserve your full attention. This Plymouth based alt-rock quartet are a real force to be reckoned with on stage and they have got a CD that is nothing short of brilliant to back it up." The Fly, April 2007

"Gutsy, innovative, dexterous alternative rock with heaps of personality” 24-7 Magazine March 2007
