About us
According to Her are a 5-piece rock/pop outfit from the Surrey area. With a female vocalist, catchy choruses and a memorable stage presence, According to Her stand out from many of the up and coming bands of today's music scene. They are a young and energetic boost in the live music circuit, creating a fuss wherever they perform.
We have been playing live for over a year, and have played venues all around London and the South East, most notably the Kingston Peel, the Guildford Boileroom, the Reading Face Bar, Purple Turtle and the London Dry Bar. Their most prestigious achievement will be on January 31st 2009, where they will play at Westminster Central Hall in aid of breast cancer. With over 1000 tickets already sold, and adverts being shown all over London public transport, this event marks as a milestone in According to Her's short yet successful career. Just recently we have also been booked to play a Barfly UK Tour.
We have recently recorded two songs which will soon become available for download on Itunes, which have also attained a combined total of over 15,000 plays on their website in the last 4 months.
Reviews...
"Seething youthful exuberance from every pore, Bookham based five piece According To Her succeed in making modern Pop-Punk that is not only infectious but believable. Something that seems to be increasingly rare in rock's current hook-saturated climate."
-The Guildford Boilerooms
"To say that this lot are "awesome" would be an understatement. There is definitely something very special about "According To Her", and its only a matter of time until they find success on a larger scale."
-BTB Promotions
"Having given According To Her a blisteringly good review only days ago, the female fronted five piece had a lot to deliver, and they did just that. They are heavier live than their demos would suggest, but this does not detract from their sound at all. If anything it adds to it, creating an atmosphere in the hall which had been unrivalled this evening up until now. There is something in the sound that captivates the audience. The band are already showing a great deal of professionalism in their live show which can only mean that the best is still yet to come."
-Underdogzine
"The next band I am reviewing goes by the name of According To Her. They are one of the most confident bands I have ever seen on stage. The complex guitar and bass compliment the amazing drumming and the pitch perfect vocals, and in the 7ft the bands were given to perform in, According To Her made no effort to keep it clean. Every member went absolutely nuts, which really got the crowd going."
-Final Broadcast Promotions
According to Her have received credit from Amy MacDonald's manager, and a presenter from Radio Jackie, a local radio station. Their tracks have also been played on different student radio stations around the South East and West.
